At home with...the Hellström-Kjellström family
Peter, Erika and their three year-old daughter Allie live in a BoKlok townhouse in Sundsvall, Sweden.
The couple share with us some of their interior design projects, which have enabled them to tailor their home to meet their passions – namely cooking!
Erika says: “The pantry door has been given a coat of blackboard paint, so we can write the family’s favourite recipes on it. It’s both practical and a nice personal design detail!
“The pantry itself is a brilliant creation, using the available space under the stairs. The walls have rows of shelves to neatly store cans, jars, spices and other dry foods. It’s easy to get an overview and to access from the kitchen, which is right next to it!”
Talking of some of the couple’s other projects, Erika shares some additional ideas, and some challenges
“The shoe shelf in the hall is actually a shelf from the IKEA kitchen department, which Peter sprayed with copper-coloured paint to match the copper pipe clothes rail above it."
“The living room was for sure the biggest challenge to furnish but the problem was solved by simply knocking on our neighbours’ doors and checking out what they had done. This is one big advantage of living in identical houses!”
