Stylishly decorated BoKlok two-bedroom apartment in Gävle
Meet Cim, who has purchased a new BoKlok apartment in Sweden
A few years ago, ambulance nurse Cim moved into her new, ground floor BoKlok apartment in Hemlingby Södra – a new district in Gävle, Sweden. The two-bedroom apartment gave her the time and space to cultivate her interest in interior design.
Where did your interest in interior design originate from?
I have always had an interest in interior design and this interest has grown with my apartment. I bought it about a year before it was finished, which gave me plenty of time to think about how I wanted to furnish and decorate. In addition, I have a friend who owns an interior design store and who works with home styling. She inspired me a lot and awakened my interest in interior design even more.
The kitchen and living area in Cim’s apartment provides a flexible space.
I like the open floor plan of the apartment and the area that is located between the kitchen and living room. I spend most of my time there and am happy with the overall aspect of the room. I have a cozy living area with a deep velvet grey sofa where I have focused on details and sofa cushions in the colours blue, white, beige and grey. Everything fits so well with the kitchen area. Between the sofa and kitchen table I have a Vittsjö storage shelf from IKEA that is both practical and stylish with its shelves in clear glass and black frame.
On the wall above the inviting grey sofa with its cushions in different shapes and colours, there is a nice combination of paintings and portraits in black and white.
Above the coffee table with white marble top, Cim has chosen a stylish ceiling lamp consisting of hanging black cables and almost gold, naked bulbs. This is matched with a candle holder in gold and a pretty beige vase.
In the kitchen area there is also a lamp in black metal, with five arms, above a table with a white long tablecloth and four white chairs. By the kitchen window hang beautiful, long velvet curtains in blue.
Just where the kitchen area ends before entering the bedroom, there is a space for, for example, an office area if you wish. And here Cim has decorated with a desk from IKEA in the same Vittsjö series as the storage shelf – a Vittsjö desk and a stylish white chair with wooden legs. The painting above the desk adds the finishing touch.
Where do you buy you furnishings and furniture?
- I buy furniture and furnishings from different shops and websites. When I moved into the apartment, I bought new furniture from, among others, IKEA. H&M Home has a store in Gävle and a good website, with very stylish and affordable decor. Otherwise, I buy most of the interior details in a local interior design store here in Gävle called Systrarna Erenlöf, which is owned by my friend Sofie and her sister Anna.
Where do you get your inspiration?
- I am inspired by various Instagram accounts such as systrarnaerenlöf and various tags such as #inredning, #boklok, various websites and interior design magazines, but also by my friends and their homes. I appreciate BoKlok on Instagram where you get various tips on, for example, practical solutions and furnishing from equivalent BoKlok homes. It's also good when BoKlok's Instagram has different themes that can be followed in stories, such as bathroom inspo. Then you get an insight from other Boklok homeowners around the country.
