Hello! from our Project Team at BoKlok on the Lake. Welcome to our regular site update newsletter, which we use to keep you up to date with works on and around the development.
1) Block 3 is now fully installed with module assembly taking only 12 days. Internal finishes & services are now being connected. The cement board cladding is also starting to be installed.
2) Block 2 module assembly is now in progress, we have a 250-ton mobile crane lifting up to 15 modules per day into place
3) Block 1 foundations are now 90% complete. Our engineer will survey check around 500 individual points on the foundation to make sure the modules fit on perfectly.
4) The culvert was delivered and craned into position in September – this is a concrete tunnel that we build a road over.
5) Block 5 foundation concrete has now been poured on site - the blockwork walls that the modules sit on will be built next
Our apartments are produced in a factory. This means we can produce the same home with precision each time, limiting the number of errors or mistakes that are made and considerably reducing our waste!
It is estimated building homes in this way reduces waste by as much as 70% compared to traditional building methods. Over the previous five months, we’ve been able to go a step further on our Fulbeck Ave site, recycling or reusing an average of 95% of our waste!
With waste being such a big contributor to pollution and climate change, we think that is something worth talking about.
